Electrical accidents result in more deaths than any other type of accident except traffic and falls. About 10% of recordable occupational injuries involve electrical shock or malfunction. The severity of a shock a person receives depends on the amount of current drawn, whether it is AC or DC, duration of contact and path through the body.
