DIGITAL-2000 SAFETY NEWS

1. Digital-2000 Inc. announces a partnership with the World Safety Organization, one of the premier Safety Certification and worldwide Safety Organizations, dedicated to providing information, knowledge and safety and health support through its various chapters and members throughout the global community.  This non-profit is sanctioned by the United Nations and other prestigious organizations.  www.worldsafety.org

2. Another partnership has been established with D2K to provide safety knowledge to the masses, is our partnership with the International Safety Resources Association, a non-profit dedicated to providing low cost online training on a global basis.  Unique to online safety training are Entry Level programs for individuals and companies and Supervisor and Management Level courses.  These programs can be accessed worldwide, through their Content Delivery Network of over 800 servers worldwide.  As a non-profit, they can offer low cost training courses not available from “for profit” organizations.  www.safetyforjobs.org

3. NANOTECHNOLOGY.  This new technology is gaining momentum globally, but not much is known about the health hazards associated with the new materials.Information about the hazards of engineered nanoparticles is still fragmentary even though the number and variety of products manufactured using the technology continue to increase, according to a report (.pdf file) from the Occupational Health and Safety Research Institute in Quebec.  Research shows a chemical substance's nanoparticles are generally more toxic than the same substance of larger dimensions. However, the report, which summarized current data on risks associated with the technology, concluded that the risks cannot be quantified because the toxicity of products, levels of dust contamination and potential for fires have not been adequately documented. Researchers said most methods used to limit exposure to ultrafine particles should be effective against nanoparticles, but more research is needed.  If you’d like to learn more, go to:

4. Digital-2000 Inc. announces a new link on our website, where you can download hundreds of free booklets, publications, Leader’s Guides and tip sheets.  Some are government publications, from OSHA, NIOSH and state agencies, but the advantage is to get them all in one place.  You don’t have to visit 20 different websites to get what you need.  Click Here!

What we are trying to do in the D2K SAFETY NEWS is not to send out newsletters with rehashed info from OSHA or list a bunch of fines from different OSHA violations.  In the days ahead, we’ll publish real info that will help you in your Safety and Health training programs, free info, free videos and others.  We know there are hundreds of people sending out “updated” safety info and that’s ok.  We try to provide something useful that will help your training programs.
