California's Safety Law - SB-198 Details
California's Safety Law - SB-198 - On July 1, 1991, California’s New Safety Law, Senate Bill 198 took effect. It is a change of direction in Cal-OSHA’s compliance efforts. It is designed to emphasize accident and injury prevention through safety programs and strict enforcement of Cal-OSHA safety standards. Labor code violations can be prosecuted independently by local district attorney offices. This program will focus on development of safety programs in accordance with SB-198.
